Celestial beauty: The Moon

Moon

Moon

For centuries, the moon has always been an object of mystery to the human. It has been symbolized to depict the beauty of a woman, romance, night, horror and evil. In this article, I have researched how the moon affects us, our behaviour and thoughts.

The moon in the Zodiac is the ruler of the sun sign, Cancer. People born under this sign are said to be ruled by the moon.  But there is more of an insight to this than just the Zodiac’s association.

A woman’s fertility, menstrual cycles and birth process are reflected by the moon’s position in the night sky. The menstrual cycle of the woman has a gap of about 28-30 days. Ovulation tends to occur during the darker phase. Hence, it was noted that a woman’s fertility rate and menstrual cycle functions as per the moon’s lunar phase.

Lunar cycles can also affect other human behaviours and activities. In a survey conducted, it was found that many accidents, suicides, homicide cases and murder cases were occurring at a higher rate. On a full moon day, there were more dangerous incidents occurring amidst people.

Also it is noted that on full moon days, the tidal waves tend to be pulled higher. The gravitational pull was higher on full moon days, making it difficult for boating, cruising or swimming in oceans and seas.

Suicides are also noted to be under the influence on lunar vibes, where a person with an instable mind is more prone to suicidal attacks on a full moon day.

I have also studied that the moon, for as long as many centuries has been associated with madness and insomnia. Old time warnings include, if a person stares too long at the man, he or she will eventually go mad.

Theories based on lycanthropes, are also closely linked with the moon. It was strongly believed that the lunar phase helps transforming lycanthropes, the best given example a werewolf.

An in depth explanation tells us that, the moon is the exact opposite of the sun. While the sun brings us warmth, light and perfect vision, the moon brings to us a light which cannot be shared. The dark side of the moon portrays to us the dark illusions or phases. This type of darkness reveals or suggests some sort of secrecy, a discreet secret, deception, a trait which therefore gives us more reason to believe that the moon is associated with the above mentioned descriptions.

Also I have read that the moon has been associated in spiritual studies. In the spiritual science, the moon has been referred to as a source of cool logic, calmness, tranquillity, peace and coolness. Many spiritual sciences have followed occult theories based on what is known as ‘The Tradition of the Moon’.

While in medicinal cases, patients have been found to react abnormally on full moon days and new moon days. This has raised many eyebrows to the theory that the moon could be possibly reacting on the mood swings of human beings whose sensitivity and thoughts are closely linked to the moon.

With this, I would like to say that definitely the moon does influence the human mind and body during its lunar cycles and phases.

Online spell caster of the month – Shamanist.com – Ixkin and Mapiya

May 11th, 2009 Mythral 244 comments

For a previous post about Native Americans and spirituality, I made researches and ended up discovering this website: Shamanist.com.

I have not tried any of the spells they sell, but their site is accurate and actually pretty interesting. I totally agree when these Indian shamans say that “absolutely everything in the world is linked by unseen forces and spiritual bonds”. A shaman is a gifted person, spiritually speaking. And he’s able to communicate with spirits, and to be the missing link between you and spirits or occult forces.

Shamans from North America are particularly interesting because they have been forced to hide their beliefs. Being as secret as the Pope’s election, the shamanism practised by Native Americans is not so known and has been left unchanged until today. This means that the spells cast today by a shaman from USA or Canada involve the same rituals and incantations than centuries ago.

shamanistInterestingly, the Indian shamans owning this website say that they “cast their magic and Wicca spells respecting Nature’s harmony”. Huh? Is shamanism and Wicca the same thing? I pushed my studies further and actually, yes. They are very similar. Both of them are counting on the spirits present in Nature to provoke magical effects. During a ritual, while a Voodoo priest calls upon personal spirits, a shaman or a Wicca witch invokes the spirit of Fire or Water. This is exclusive and specific to Wicca and shamanism. Black magic, Egyptian magic, traditional witchcraft: all of them are the art of summoning a personal spirit.

I hope you liked this new article about a spell caster. Post your comments so my next monthly evaluation looks even better. Visit the site here. This caster is my second spotlight as the “spell caster of the month

PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT RECOMMEND OR CONDEMN THE SERVICE BY SHAMANIST.COM. I ONLY SHOW YOU THEIR EXISTENCE.  I WANT YOU, THE READER WHO USED THE SERVICE, TO SAY SOMETHING!!

SPECIAL UPDATE JUNE 12th:

I got a nice email from one of you (readers of the blog).  See below:

Hi Bruce,

It’s been a long time I follow your blog but this is my first post. First, let me tell I always enjoy reading your posts. I am living in USA and am studying the occult for a few years as well. I started a few months ago the project of writing a book about magic.

It’s amazing you mentioned shamanist.com! I was looking to meet a real shaman a few months ago, in order to illustrate my book with legends and stories dealing with shamanism in America. I made the common search on the web and have found this website by chance (seemingly just like you did). I contacted them, not for a spell, but for an interview and possibly a meeting. The shaman’s wife, Mapiya, replied very politely and seemed extremely interested in my whole work about magic. She invited me to do my interview with her husband, which I did a few months ago.

The first impression I had when I met Ixkin was a feeling of serenity. A strong wave of wisdom emanates from him, and not only because of his age. During the whole interview, I had that strange feeling that he knew everything about me. I know it’s something common with psychics but as you can imagine, I have met many psychics in my life. But I never met one with the same charisma and spiritual energy Ixkin has.

Luckily, he also had a spell to cast this very day and I was invited to look a part of his ritual. It was amazing to see a real shaman chanting and doing incantations to the spirits. A very special atmosphere was filling the air… It was really the most exciting experience in my whole life.

Keep up the great work you are doing. I will offer you my book when it’s out.

Spiritually yours,

Tom

Spirituality – Native Americans

May 4th, 2009 Mythral 13 comments

I had some of the most wonderful experiences while researching the field of spirituality. Spirituality is not born out of any religion. It does not have any parent, or origin. It teaches the morality and spectrum of life. In other words, I have found out that Spirituality is nothing but absolute science. It goes straight into the matter, without any levels of research or links. While many religions preach about their Creator and their scriptures, Spirituality deals with logic of life.

Spirituality

Spirituality

One of the most essential and basic principles of Spirituality is that there are infinite paths that lead to God. We can worship and reach out to God through any form, such as music, art, dance, sculpture etc. One of the moral values of Spirituality is to reach out to God, without hurting or provoking violence and cruelty amongst fellow men. In my research I have discovered that Spirituality seeks insight and provides us with various options in the style of our prayer, guiding us rightly and strengthening our faith.

In addition to the above mentioned, I have also discovered that an average human is surrounded by 75% unhappiness. The science of Spirituality fights to discard this make way for bliss and supreme happiness. Spirituality is indeed above all sciences in this world. When the door closes at the intellectual level, it opens to a wider perspective, the spiritual level.

Native Indians have a long-standing tradition of spirituality mixed with their customs and religion. The fusion of spirituality in daily practice is often quoted by various spiritual gurus to make life extremely contented and happy. So I ventured to find out more about Native Indian Spirituality and came to know that they believe that earth is a living super organism. Mother Earth or Gaia has given birth to all that is present in the world.  We, humans are also Gaia’s children varying only in ancestry. Thus all their spiritual endeavours are intended to strengthen our self, our families and friends, our relationships with each other and finally Mother Earth Herself. They speak of secularism in respecting each other and pray for the common good of all. They envision peace and hope in the world. They do not claim to convert you, just to ensure that you become a better person than what you already are. They perform various ceremonies to please the various sacred presences for prosperous living. The ceremonies themselves differ according to the various tribes. Each tribe has a different method that is limited by the resources available and modified to suit needs.

Christianity has yet again tried to suppress the native Indian traditions by many wars and years of oppression. But even today, Native Indian spirituality exists and is being slowly recognized for its ways and means of peaceful living. No one is yet to be an expert in this field of rich tradition. I would say that I’m still learning about their beautiful spiritual undertaking to make this world a better place to live in for future generations to come.
